Widely recognized as one of Britain’s finest landscape artists, James Morrison’s work hangs in the homes of JK Rowling and the Royal family, as well as in museums and private collections around the world. But in the twilight of his life, James loses his eyesight and with that, his ability to see the landscape as others couldn’t. As Morrison reflects on his remarkable artistic journey, from the Glasgow shipyards, to France and the vanishing arctic wilderness, he also confronts his sight loss by attempting one final masterpiece. Eye of the Storm is a powerful and poignant exploration of the connection between freedom, transcendence and art, through the stormy eyes of a master.

The Guardian

"A fitting tribute to an articulate and self-effacing artist with an extraordinary affinity for Scotland’s everchanging land and seascapes."

Business Doc Europe

"Making impressive and judicious use of animation and music, filmmaker Anthony Baxter gently and astutely tells the story of a life dedicated to art; of a proud Scot whose work beautifully reflected the light, sea, landscape and buildings of his country, and of a compassionate and articulate man who let his craft and body of work do much of his talking."

Eye for Film

"Quiet but astute and with a deep understanding of what he was seeking in his work, Morrison was a naturally engaging subject and if you have any interest in art at all, he will easily hold your attention for the duration of this film. "
